So all in all, it was definitely an experience. I know that it’s only meant to please the guests, but it was kinda hard to think about what to order and talk with each other when someone constantly tried to talk us into ordering different dishes. The constant offer of different food even before we could decide what to order was really overwhelming and kinda stressful for me. I‘m a person who likes to take her time while eating, preferably in a calm environment. The only thing that really did bother me, was that every few minutes a waiter would come to our table and persistently tried to offer us different dishes. We also got constant refills of green tea without having to pay for it. But everything I liked, was actually pretty good. I didn’t really like the food, but I think that’s more my then the restaurant‘s fault. The decoration is quiet charming, with chinese dragons hanging from. We went to this place with a few friends because it was recommended to us.Īlthough the restaurant seemed to be quiet big, the tables were placed in a way that you didn‘t feel cramped. We will definitely return if we are ever in Toronto again. I think we had 5 mediums and 4 large plus 3 teas and taxes added up to about $57 before tips. Everything else we ordered were top notch. The only disappointment was the mini lotus wrapped rice packets due to a lack of filling. Another delicious item was the steam bbq bun…so yummy. We also enjoyed the sparerib rice and the taro empanadas. Their shrimp rice rolls and beef rice rolls were also very delicious along with the chicken feet. Their beef balls were also very tasty and authentic 4 balls given. We ordered ha gow which was excellent…crunchy shrimp and the right taste. This will pose a huge inconvenience for mobility challenged. The restaurant is on the 3rd floor and quite a climb of stairs as the elevator is out of order. Most dim sum items are Medium for $5.20 per plate while large is $6.20 per plate and some X-Large at $7.98 per plate. Moreįirst time eating dim sum here and we were very pleased with the food quality, the taste, and the very reasonable prices. In nearby restaurants, starting at $19.99 you get a buffet of food, (Korean, Thai, etc.) We were completely disappointed to say the least. We left the restaurant hungry as we came in. For 6 pcs of tasteless variety, it costs us $48+. We then looked at the tiny numbered pictured dimsum menu and ordered and our food came after a good 30 min wait on top of the initial 30 minute wait for carted foods after we asked 3x for the status of our order. Long story short, the tiny numbers that you could hardly read on the pictured dimsum menu was coded S, M, L, LX for pricing. After a VERRRRRRRRRYYYYY long wait of no foods being carted around other than fried ones, we decided to look at the 2 pcs of paper given to us and still unable to figure out, we kindly asked a server who was rude to say "just follow the numbers?". WE had been to many dimsum places and NORMALLY, foods are carted and you choose what you like and it is handed over to you. We were seated and quickly handed a pictured dimsum menu and 2 pcs of paper and a pen with no instructions. We had lunch at Dim Sum King located at 421 Dundas Street West, Toronto, ON, Canada, Toronto, M5T 2W4.
